MASON NICOLL

BIO

Mason is a director and designer living in Los Angeles. His most

recent projects include the award winning video installation at the

Tom Bradley Terminal at LAX and several campaigns for AT&T U-verse.

The recipient of a BFA from the The Rhode Island School of Design, Mason was recruited to work at Microsoft as an art director. While there, he and two fellow RISD graduates started a side project that was wryly titled, Live Nude Girls! It featured a unique blend of pop culture, music, and design. LNG! received critical acclaim and was featured at SxSW.

Pursuing live-action, Mason went on to lead Digital Kitchen’s LA

office, earning two Emmy Nominations and directing projects for

Nike, Sundance Institute and HP. Collaborating with Microsoft on a series of “envisioning” projects, Mason helped define and set the standard for future vision concepting—which led to his work on the first Iron Man film.

Mason's work has appeared at the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and is part of the MoMA’s permanent collection. He has been recognized by The Art Directors Club, the AICP and the Clios, and featured in numerous publications including, I.D., AIGA Journal, Details and Arena. More recently the Bradley Terminal installation at LAX was recognized by The One Show, D&AD, and Communication Arts.
